Tom King
(The Tornado)

Harmonica player and vocalist, Tom has been playing professionally since 1979, but Tom was a natural from the  age of twelve.  During a jam session with some young friends, he picked up the harp and was instantly hooked. Tom’s mother realized his gift and gave him a guitar and a harmonica for Christmas. The guitar took a back seat while he has been driving the sweet sound of the harp all across the country ever since.

As a boy, Tom was fortunate enough to indulge in his two great loves, the harp and his horse.  In the quite countryside, Tom would ride his horse while singing and blowing on the harmonica.

Tom’s influences come with an impressive resume:  Paul Butterfield, Little Watler, John Mayall, Corky Siegel, William Clark, Paul deLay, Curtis Salgado and one of his favorites, Rod Piazza.

Over the years, Tom has played Blues, Jazz, Country, Rock and Gospel while touring the United States with several bands including The Dave Clark Band, Tommy Waters Band, Swing Shift and Road Fever.

At present, Tom’s charisma, prowess and animated performance adds the exciting edge to the Northern California band Side Of Blues that keeps the fans coming back for more.
